US Coast Guard Auxiliary Boat Inspections

  • Sun, May 19, 2019
  • 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Sweetwater and Jersey Devil Marinas

US Coast Guard Auxiliary boat safety inspections will be held at the Sweetwater Marina and the Jersey Devil Marina on Sunday May 19th, from 9 am - 1 pm.

This is a free service of the Coast Guard Auxiliary,  and open to all boats and boaters - not just Sweetwater Yacht Club members or Marina residents.  Inspections are conducted to ensure your boat is in compliance with Federal and local law enforcement agencies'  safety regulations.

Items checked include life jackets, vessel registration and numbering, navigation lights, distress signal devices, ventilation, fire extinguishers, battery covers and connections.

Vessels that pass inspection will be issued a decal, and may qualify for discounted boat insurance premiums.  Inspections take less than 30 minutes, and often 15 minutes or less, depending on the size of boat.  Boats that do not pass inspection will not be given a citation; instead you will be issued a written report of deficiencies to correct.   For more information visit the Coast Guard Auxiliary's website, http://cgaux.org/vsc/ .

Take advantage of this great opportunity to ensure a safe 2019 boating season!

Please email us at theswyc@sweetwateryachtclub.com if you intend to have your boat inspected, so we can give the Auxiliary a rough count of vessels to be inspected.  Thank you, and SAFE BOATING!
